It's May! Don't come a knocking!
We here in the Kitchen are taking a break from posting to the Wall this month as we have so much on other people's walls this month!
Chinatown Remixed is running the entire month of May and is worth going walk-about to see not only the great art, but to relish in the culinary delights of food artists in this part of our community. Besides, what a great way to celebrate Asian Heritage month!
May 1-May 31, 2009 Vernissages: May 2, from 2:00-5:00 pm in various restaurants and shops on Somerset West. Various street performances for families and kids available.
Urban photography meets ecologically responsible scooter shop
For those who are looking to do a bit of eco-shopping with a side of snaps of Hintonburg, step over the rubble of construction, and into Green Pedal e-Scooters in the heart of Hintonburg. Here you can find the hottest trends in electric scooters and take in a micro-show of some of the hidden parts of Hintonburg. Can you tell me where all seven spots are? There's a t-shirt in it for some one who identifies all seven correctly!
Arts Park - May 10
And just when you think it couldn't get better ... What are you doing Mother's Day? If going to the Parkdale Market to pick-up some flowers is in the cards (especially if you're using your new electric scooter!) why not stop in and enjoy the spectacular spectacle called Arts Park!
This is an annual all-day event for the entire family. Lots of entertainment for the eye and the ear, food vendors to satisfy the tummy rumblings and maybe a chance or two to try your hand at a few of the hands-on projects (like the poetry tent or kids' art tent).
Oh, and there is the Market where you can peruse the extension to the market and the newer vendors wares.
Happy May, see you all in the Kitchen in June!
